The severity of the left apical nodule depends on the nature and size of the nodule. If the apical nodule is a ground glass nodule, less than 5 mm, it is mostly considered as benign nodule and does not require special treatment, and it can be dynamically observed and high-resolution chest CT done once a year to assess whether the nodule has changed. If there is no change in the nodule, the left apical nodule is mostly benign and not serious. If the apical pulmonary nodule shows growth changes, greater than 5mm or even greater than 8mm, the nodule is considered to be in an unstable state and may be a change of early lung cancer, which requires further chest enhancement CT and early surgical intervention and treatment by a thoracic surgeon to avoid missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis. For small nodules in the left lung tip, its severity is mainly judged according to its nature and size, and there is no need to be overly nervous.
