Yue Ju Bao He Wan is composed of two classic prescriptions, namely Yue Ju Wan and Bao He Wan, which are effective in relieving liver congestion, appetizing and eliminating food.
Yueju Pill and Boho Pill are both derived from Danxi Xinfa. Yueju Pill relieves qi and depression, and is used for treating the six depression syndromes, which are mainly characterized by chest and diaphragm constriction, epigastric and abdominal distension and pain, nausea and vomiting, and failure to consume food and drink. Baohe Pill can eliminate food stagnation, regulate Qi and harmonize the stomach. It is mainly used to treat the syndrome of food stagnation (the accumulation of food in the stomach due to indigestion).
The two are added and reduced to form Yue Ju Bao He Wan, which is mainly composed of Gardenia, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix Aesculi, Radix et Rhizoma Cyperi, Radix et Rhizoma Cyperi, Radix et Rhizoma Mucilaginae, and Betel Nut.
The drug is mainly used for the treatment of gastric pain caused by qi depression and food stagnation, and is effective in treating symptoms such as abdominal distension and pain, noisy stomach and epigastric cavity (a feeling similar to hunger, emptiness with burning in the stomach), dullness of the stomach (lack of appetite and reduced food intake), loss of appetite, irregular bowel movements (abnormal stools), and dyspepsia.
The adverse reactions and contraindications of the drug are not clear, but it should be noted that during the period of taking the drug, avoid eating raw, cold, sticky, greasy and other indigestible food, in addition, pregnant women should be cautious. It is not suitable for patients with spleen and stomach yin deficiency.
