The management of acute phase of postural hypotension includes measures such as taking proper protection, arranging the patient to lie down, determining the patient’s consciousness, and giving the patient rapid water intake. General treatment includes dietary modifications, abstinence from smoking and alcohol, avoidance of hot environments, avoidance of squatting or standing up quickly after lying down, and the use of stretching therapy. If the symptoms are serious, antihypotensive drugs such as Midodrine and Droxidopa should be used. 1. Adjust the diet, such as quitting smoking and limiting alcohol, increasing sodium intake, and supplementing vitamins and minerals lacking in the body. 2. Avoid high temperature environment and exposure to hot environment in daily activities, avoid standing quickly or standing still, change body position slowly, and avoid straining to defecate, urinate and cough. 3. Elastic therapy such as wearing elastic stockings can reduce the pooling of venous blood in the lower limbs and increase venous blood return. 4. Patients with severe symptoms and frequent episodes of postural hypotension can use antihypertensive drugs such as Midodrine and Droxidopa. Patients with postural hypotension should monitor their blood pressure, consult a doctor immediately if they feel unwell, and standardize their treatment under medical advice.
