Is it normal for the pituitary bulge to be 10mm thick?

Pituitary bulge thicker at 10 mm may or may not be normal, it should be considered whether the data is pituitary height or transverse/sagittal diameter, if it is height then it is more than normal, if it is transverse/sagittal diameter then there is no abnormality.
The mean sagittal diameter of the pituitary gland in males and females was (11.50±1.62) and (11.62±1.40) mm, and the mean transverse diameter of the pituitary gland in males and females was (13.95±1.92) and (14.42±1.97) mm, respectively; if the transverse/sagittal diameter of the pituitary gland was 10 mm, it would be considered as a normal value.
The average pituitary heights in males and females are (5.46±1.30) and (6.05±1.30) mm, respectively, and may increase during puberty, with an upper limit of up to 8 mm in boys and 10 mm in girls, and an upper limit of up to 12 mm in pregnant women.
In the average adult, a pituitary height of 10 mm is outside the average range and suggests the possibility of pituitary tumors and pituitary cysts, for which further investigation is recommended.
Patients are advised to follow up with imaging tests for further diagnosis and treatment.
