Can probiotics cause diarrhea?

Probiotics generally do not cause diarrhea.
There are many kinds of beneficial bacteria in the intestines, such as Bifidobacterium, Saccharomyces boulardii, Lactobacillus, etc. Probiotics can improve intestinal flora, enhance the vitality of intestines, help to improve digestive ability, inhibit the reproduction of harmful bacteria, and improve intestinal immunity.
Because probiotics have a two-way regulation of the intestinal tract, they are often used clinically as an adjunctive treatment for diarrhea and constipation, so in general taking probiotics will not cause diarrhea. When taking probiotics, the temperature of the water should not exceed 40 degrees, otherwise the probiotics will be inactivated and will not have a therapeutic effect.
Due to the differences in personal constitution, if diarrhea occurs after taking probiotics, it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause of diarrhea and then give targeted treatment. All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
