Itchy nose and sneezing may be due to physiological factors, e.g., dryness of the nasal mucosa, irritation by specific odors. It may also be due to allergic rhinitis or vasomotor rhinitis. Depending on the cause and the degree of the disease, it can be treated with drugs such as loratadine and budesonide, and desensitization and surgical treatments can also be chosen to control the disease and improve the symptoms. 1. Physiological factors: transient itchy nose and sneezing are caused by some irritating particulate matter in the air or the nasal mucosa is too dry, usually no need to use drugs. 2. Allergic rhinitis: Typical symptoms are paroxysmal sneezing, followed by nasal congestion and nasal itching. Treatment should avoid contact with allergens, and anti-allergy drugs such as loratadine and montelukast can be used, as well as topical glucocorticoid drugs such as budesonide nasal spray. Desensitization therapy is also available if eligible. 3. Vasomotor rhinitis: it may be related to endocrine disorders, and the treatment requires removing the cause. Appropriate use of antihistamines such as loratadine and astemizole, and anticholinergics such as ipratropium bromide. Use local glucocorticoid drugs such as budesonide nasal spray to reduce inflammation and swelling. Surgical treatments such as nasal septum correction and pre-sialylation nerve block may be attempted in some patients. Itchy nose sneezing may have other causes, it is recommended that the patient to go to the hospital, to clarify the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the use of drugs and treatment.
