The main function of the heart is to pump blood, i.e., to power the flow of blood.
The heart is the most important organ of the human circulatory system. During diastole, the heart pumps blood from the veins to the heart and then through systole, the heart is re-energized, relying on this kinetic energy for the body to transport blood throughout the body.
The ventricles consist of four heart chambers. The right atrium receives blood returning from the veins of the circulation and delivers it to the right ventricle, which re-energizes the blood and delivers it to the pulmonary arteries, where it enters the lungs and combines it with oxygen to change blood from venous to arterial, and then returns it to the left atrium and left ventricle via the pulmonary veins, where it is transported throughout the body to provide oxygen.
When heart disease occurs, the human body will feel difficulty in breathing and experience symptoms such as chest tightness, chest pain and shortness of breath. If similar symptoms occur, you should seek medical attention to find out the cause so as not to delay your condition.
