How long it takes to recover from hip labral injury mainly depends on the severity of the labral injury. Patients with mild injury can usually recover in three months; patients with more severe injury may need six months to one year to recover.
1. Mild patients: The labrum is a fibrous cartilage tissue located at the edge of the acetabulum, and its main function is to maintain the negative pressure of the joint and increase the lubrication of the joint. Repeated wear and tear of the hip joint or its own anatomy due to poor external relations, etc., may cause damage to the labrum.
In patients with mild injury, if there is no structural damage to the labrum, they can usually recover in about three months after regular treatment.
2. Severe patients: If the hip labral injury is severe and there is obvious structural damage, the recovery time is usually longer, and most patients may need 6 months to a year to recover after surgery.
Because the hip joint is the largest weight-bearing joint in the human body, there is negative pressure in the joint, and when the joint moves, the labrum will also move accordingly, so healing is slower after a serious injury.
In case of hip labral injury, it is recommended to have standardized treatment as soon as possible to reduce the adverse effects of the disease.
