Does bone broth provide calcium?

Bone broth is not an effective calcium supplement. Although bones contain more calcium, but these calcium for binding calcium, insoluble in water, even after a long time of boiling, dissolved in water calcium is still very limited. Take turnip bone soup as an example, every 100 milliliters of turnip bone soup contains only 10.79 milligrams of calcium. While 100 milliliters of milk contains 104 milligrams of calcium, 100 grams of eggs contain 56 milligrams of calcium, 100 grams of broccoli contains 50 milligrams of calcium, 100 grams of cabbage contains 49 milligrams of calcium. So in comparison, the calcium content in bone broth is very low. In addition to this, bone broth has a low nutrient density, in which the main nutrients are fat and water and a small amount of free amino acids, free nucleotides and other flavor-presenting substances. Drinking large quantities of bone broth will lead to limited intake of other nutrient-rich foods, thus leading to malnutrition. Therefore, whether it is to supplement calcium or other nutrients, it is not recommended to drink only bone broth. Calcium deficiency in the human body can moderately increase the intake of milk, fish, seafood, cruciferous plants, eggs and other foods to help the body to supplement part of the calcium agent. But if the serious calcium deficiency, to the pathological state, need to promptly seek medical attention, under the guidance of the doctor to use calcium gluconate and other drugs treatment.
