Wolfberry has the effects of nourishing yin and brightening eyes; Schisandra has the effects of fixing astringency, generating fluids and tonifying the kidneys; and Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng has the effects of strengthening the spleen and generating fluids. Chinese wolfberry has the effect of nourishing the liver and kidney, benefiting the essence and brightening the eyes (tonifying the essence and promoting the recovery of eyesight). It is used in treating deficiency of essence, soreness of waist and knees, dizziness and tinnitus, impotence and spermatorrhea, internal heat and thirst (internal heat accompanied by eating, drinking and urinating, etc.), deficiency of blood and atrophy, and dizziness and uncertainty of the eyes. Schisandra chinensis has the effects of astringency (astringent consolidation), benefiting qi and generating fluids (promoting fluid production by replenishing qi), tonifying the kidneys and tranquilizing the heart (tonifying the kidneys and stabilizing the heart and mind). It is used for prolonged coughing and asthma, dreaming and spermatorrhea, spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating with a little movement), night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, sweating stops after waking up), thirst due to injury of the body fluid, insomnia, and so on. Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae has the effects of strengthening the spleen and lungs (strengthening the functions of the spleen and lungs), nourishing blood and promoting the production of body fluid. It is used for spleen and lung qi deficiency, poor appetite and tiredness, cough and asthma, deficiency of qi and blood, yellowish color (yellowish color without luster), palpitation and shortness of breath, thirst due to injury of fluids, and internal heat and thirst (internal fever accompanied by symptoms such as eating more, drinking more and urinating more).
