What diseases can be detected by CT of the larynx

CT of the larynx can clinically detect the following diseases: the first one is to check for fractures or dislocations of the laryngeal cartilage. Clinically, for patients with closed trauma or open trauma to the larynx, CT larynx examination can determine whether there are fractures or dislocations of the thyroid cartilage plate, whether there are dislocations of the cricoid joint and other such diseases, and also see whether there are fractures of the cricoid cartilage. The second type of disease is the abscess or hematoma of the larynx, which is also very well determined. Common diseases include abscesses in the parapharyngeal space, where the size and extent of the abscess can be clinically determined, and the relationship between the abscess and the surrounding important blood vessels and nerves in the neck can be identified. The third disease is for cancer of the pharynx, which is of great clinical significance. It is very much used in clinical practice, for example, some patients have diseases like hypopharyngeal cancer and laryngeal cancer, and it is good for judging the scope of the main body of cancer, the depth of cancer invasion of the surrounding interstitial space, the extent of cancer invasion of cartilage, and whether the cancer has invaded and encircled the surrounding blood vessels. For the lymph node metastasis appeared by cancer, it is clinically possible to determine the number of lymph node metastasis and the size of lymph node metastasis.
