Do you have to remove the blackened area of caries?

The blackened areas of caries must be removed before subsequent restorative methods such as fillings or inlays can be performed.
Dental caries is one of the common diseases in dentistry, which is mainly caused by poor oral hygiene leading to dental hard tissues (such as enamel, dentin, etc.) by bacteria and their products corrosion and decomposition of the disease. Symptoms of dental caries generally include brown or black color of the carious area, soft probing often accompanied by hot and cold stimulation pain, and so on.
It is recommended to consult a doctor in time for symptomatic treatment, i.e., the carious part, i.e., the blackened or softened part, should be cleaned up thoroughly before restorative treatments such as caries filling or inlay can be carried out; if the blackened part of the carious caries is not cleaned up thoroughly, secondary caries or even endodontic inflammation will occur in the later stage of the disease.
