Dried sea buckthorn fruit soaked in water can be used to treat diseases such as low food intake and spleen deficiency. However, soaking in water is not the same as decocting, the ingredients can be analyzed are limited, and cannot give full play to the medicinal effect, so soaking in water is not a substitute for medication to treat diseases.
Sea buckthorn is the dried and mature fruit of the plant of the family of Hu Decadentiaceae, and its effects include dispersing blood stasis and activating blood circulation, eliminating food and strengthening the spleen, expelling phlegm and relieving cough.
It is mainly used for treating weak spleen qi (spleen qi weakness), epigastric (abdominal) distension, dyspepsia, tiredness and fatigue; cough and phlegm; women’s menorrhagia, irregular menstruation, chest palsy (chest tightness and pain), heart pain, bruises, etc. It can be used as a substitute for medicine in the treatment of illnesses.
Seabuckthorn is taken internally by decoction, and the contraindications and adverse reactions of seabuckthorn are not clear.
