Can Mucous Edema Be Eliminated With Exercise?

Mucous edema will not be eliminated by exercise.
Mucous edema is formed when fibroblasts produce a large amount of acidic mucopolysaccharides, leading to the accumulation of mucopolysaccharides in the extracellular matrix, which can be manifested as anterior tibial mucous edema, facial mucous edema, or generalized mucous edema.
Mucous edema, which is most commonly seen in hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, is a pathologic form of edema and therefore will not be eliminated by exercise.
Mucous edema will not be eliminated by exercise. Once mucous edema occurs, it is recommended to reduce exercise and consult an endocrinologist as soon as possible in order to make a clear diagnosis and timely treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
