Risks of Fishwife to Children

The danger of fritillary to children is not clear and there are no reports of it. Fishwort is a plant-based Chinese medicine that is slightly cold in nature, pungent in flavor, and belongs to the lung meridian. Its effects are diuretic and diaphoretic (to improve the problem of dribbling in the urine and the problem of insufficient volume of urine), heat-clearing and detoxicating (to remove heat and toxicity in the body), and carbuncle-discharging and pus-expelling (to eliminate carbuncles and discharge pus). Fritillary is used for treating damp-heat gonorrhea (increased frequency of urination, drenching and astringent pain), lung-heat cough, lung carbuncle (septic infection) spitting out pus, and heat-poisoned sores and carbuncles (sores and carbuncles appearing on the surface of the skin because of excessive heat and toxicity in the body). The adverse reactions and contraindications of Fishweed are not yet clear. Precautions should be avoided in cases of deficiency-cold syndrome and yin syndrome (caused by an excess of cold in the body), sores and ulcers (pus-filled infectious diseases on the surface of the body). Children who have a need for fishweed, should be applied under the guidance of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, do not self-medication, to avoid adverse consequences.
