Chronic renal failure has been treated with various alternative therapies in modern medicine, which are costly and have more complications, and have their limitations in application. The advantages of multi-site, multi-path and overall regulation of Chinese medicine have made great achievements in improving clinical symptoms, preventing and treating complications, delaying disease progression, improving survival quality and reducing mortality. We used the method of “internal and external treatment” to treat 70 cases of chronic renal failure, and compared it with conventional treatment in 50 cases to investigate the clinical efficacy of the method of “internal and external treatment” in treating early and middle chronic renal failure. Methods: 20 patients with chronic renal failure were divided into 70 cases in the treatment group and 50 cases in the control group. The control group was treated with conventional high-quality low-protein diet, active treatment of primary diseases, and symptomatic and anti-infection treatment; the treatment group was treated with Chinese medicine kidney preservation soup plus Chinese medicine machine method high colonic dialysis on top of the treatment in the control group. The machine method of high colonic dialysis was used to decoct 600ml of one dose of the formula for colonic dialysis, and colonic dialysis was given by the colonic dialysis machine once/day for 2 weeks as a course of treatment for 2 consecutive courses. The changes of blood creatinine, urea nitrogen and hemoglobin in the two groups before and after the treatment were examined. Results: In the treatment group, serum creatinine and urea nitrogen decreased significantly and Hb increased significantly. There was a significant difference in the decrease of serum creatinine and urea nitrogen compared with the control group after treatment (p<0.05). Conclusion: The method of "internal and external treatment" can improve the renal function of patients by reducing the serum creatinine and urea nitrogen in blood, thus delaying the progression of chronic renal failure, and it is worthy of clinical promotion for the early and middle treatment of chronic renal failure.
