The drug of choice for variant angina

The preferred drug for patients with variant angina is a calcium channel blocker, and representative drugs include diltiazem, nifedipine tablets, and nicorandil. For such patients, in addition to taking medication, attention must be paid to smoking cessation treatment. Some studies have shown that smoking is one of the very important factors that trigger variant angina. It is recommended that patients should quit smoking and drinking, have a low-salt, low-fat diet, take regular rest and keep a happy mood to help prevent the onset of angina symptoms. Patients with variant angina will have a transient abnormal change in the ECG when the disease strikes, so they must pay great attention to this, and if necessary, it is recommended that they undergo coronary CT or coronary angiography. If severe stenosis does exist, interventional or surgical treatment may also be given.
