What’s with the sudden hard-on?

Sudden erectile dysfunction may be caused by psychological factors, trauma, penile artery stenosis, neuropathy, hypothyroidism, penile sclerosis and so on.

1. Psychological factors: Acute stress, excessive mental pressure, lack of rest, lack of sexual communication and other psychological factors may lead to sudden erectile dysfunction.

2. Trauma: the penis is subjected to extrusion, contusion cracks and other traumatic injuries resulting in cavernous body damage, vascular damage or nerve damage, and thus will suddenly harden.

3. Penile artery stenosis: penile atherosclerosis, localized compression of penile artery, cardiac insufficiency, etc. lead to insufficient local blood supply to the penis, so it will be suddenly hard to get up.

4. Neuropathy: central nervous system infection, stroke, brain tumor, peripheral neuropathy, spinal cord injury, lumbar intervertebral disc herniation and so on lead to nerve dysfunction innervating the penis, and thus suddenly can not get hard.

5. Hypothyroidism: insufficient secretion of thyroid hormone leads to low metabolism of the whole body, which can also lead to sudden hardness.

6. Sclerodactyly: This is a connective tissue lesion that forms fibrous plaques in the tunica albuginea of the penis, leading to erectile difficulties and pain.

Sudden inability to get hard may be related to a variety of factors, it is recommended to seek medical attention to clarify the diagnosis.
