Patients always choke when eating, mainly consider the following reasons: first, there may be occupational changes in the patient’s larynx, such as the formation of epiglottic cysts, papillomas or malignant tumors, sometimes the masses will affect the patient’s swallowing function, so the patient often chokes when swallowing down. The second reason is that the patient may be older or may have had a lacunar infarction, and due to the innervation problem, the patient’s swallowing muscles may be uncoordinated, so he or she will always choke when eating. Regardless of which of the above causes, it is recommended that the patient first go to the hospital for a detailed examination to improve the CT or MRI of the head, and then improve the laryngoscopy to clarify the patient’s specific situation. If it is because of a growth that affects the patient’s ability to eat, active surgical treatment must be performed. If it is a problem of innervation, nerve-nourishing drugs can be applied to relieve it.
