Ground bone skin belongs to clear the deficiency heat medicine, for the eggplant family Lycium barbarum or Ningxia Chinese wolfberry dried root skin, taste sweet, cold, to the lung, liver, kidney meridian. It has the efficacy of cooling the blood and removing vapor, clearing the lungs and reducing fire.
It is often used in combination with Zhi Mu and Bao Jia to treat yin deficiency and tidal fever; or with Sang Bai Pi and Glycyrrhiza glabra to treat lung-heat cough; or with Sapindus indica, Artichoke, and Bupleurum to treat blood-heat coughing up blood and epistaxis; or with Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Fructus Crassiflora, and Maitake Dung to treat internal heat and thirst (internal heat accompanied by symptoms such as excessive eating, drinking, and urination).
