How do you treat a child with cerebral palsy?

Cerebral palsy is a movement disorder and postural abnormality caused by brain injury or developmental defects before birth and during the first year of life, mostly combined with mental retardation, epilepsy, perceptual disorders and other abnormalities. In China, due to the improvement and popularization of neonatal ICU treatment technology, more premature and low birth weight infants have survived, and the incidence of cerebral palsy seems to be on the rise. The central nervous system lesions in children with cerebral palsy are permanent and irreversible, so cerebral palsy is an incurable disease. However, clinical practice shows that pediatric cerebral palsy is a treatable and rehabilitative disease. Most children with mild cases can approach normalization and lead a normal social life, and those with moderate or severe cases can greatly improve their motor functions and quality of life, so that most patients (some of them need the help of wheelchairs and braces) can return to their families and society. The treatment of cerebral palsy is a multidisciplinary and multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment. Traditional treatment methods include rehabilitation, medication, botulinum toxin and assistive devices,
Botox and assistive devices. Surgery can solve the problem of high muscle tone and contracture deformation, which cannot be solved by rehabilitation. Rehabilitation can solve the problems of strength, balance and coordination, which cannot be solved by surgery. Only the combination of surgery and rehabilitation can achieve the best results, so we demand “no rehabilitation, no surgery”.
