What’s wrong with the itchy, red, swollen, peeling eyelids?

Itchy, swollen and peeling eyelids can be caused by seborrheic dermatitis, pityriasis alba, allergic blepharitis and other factors.
1. Seborrheic dermatitis: usually due to genetic factors or infected with Malassezia, patients usually appear yellow-red patches, with greasy scales, accompanied by itching symptoms, some patients may also appear diffuse redness of the skin, swelling and other symptoms, so the patient will appear eyelid redness, swelling, itching, peeling of the phenomenon.
2. White furfura: usually caused by long-term exposure to wind and sunlight, patients usually appear round or oval pigmentation spots, the edge is not very clear, with fine chaffy white flakes, accompanied by mild itching symptoms, usually occurring in the face, upper arms, neck, shoulders and other parts of the eyelids will also appear red, itchy, peeling phenomenon.
3. Allergic blepharitis: due to localized allergy or allergy of the skin at the eyelid margin, it will manifest as peeling, redness, swelling, itching and other symptoms, sometimes combined with conjunctival congestion and conjunctival edema. The peeling, redness and swelling are usually caused by contact with an allergen or by an immune response. Some people experience recurrent redness, swelling, and itching after exposure to a fixed allergen.
