In general emotions in turn affect the self-perception of quality of life. The reasons for patients’ reduced quality of life are multiple. First, the fast pace of life in modern society exposes people to a lot of pressure from work, family, and society, especially those with poorer educational backgrounds. Patients with earlier seizures have greater intellectual impairment and therefore face more stress. Secondly, patients have sudden onset and stop of seizures. For patients with frequent seizures without seizure aura, seizures can occur at any time. There may be some danger during seizures, so it is dangerous for patients to be alone. Therefore, they cannot work and study normally, and most patients have some depression and consider themselves a burden to their families and have a low quality of life. Most patients with epilepsy have anxiety suppression and depression followed by some maladaptation to work. Seizures are usually accompanied by cognitive changes, some decrease in memory and thinking ability, and a decrease in work ability. A few patients have personality changes, hostility, irritability, and poor relationships with colleagues and relatives.
