Varicose veins are most commonly seen in one leg, but can develop sequentially in both legs.
Primary varicose veins of the lower extremities are defined as elongated, tortuous and varicose superficial veins, usually involving only the saphenous vein. The risk factors for primary varicose veins are prolonged standing work, high intensity of physical activity, and sedentary lifestyle. Primary varicose veins in the left lower limb are more common, but bilateral lower limbs can develop successively.
Varicose veins are mainly manifested as expansion of superficial veins of lower limbs, tortuous, heavy lower limbs, fatigue, ankle may appear mild swelling, boot area may have skin pigmentation, dermatitis, wetmore, subcutaneous liposclerosis and ulcer formation and other trophic changes.
Patients with varicose veins should go to regular hospitals for treatment under the guidance of specialized physicians.
