How to treat facial paralysis when you wash your hair and don’t dry it

Washing hair without drying facial paralysis is generally considered to be peripheral facial paralysis due to facial neuritis, mainly early hormone, antiviral and nutritive nerve and other drug therapy, physical therapy, eye protection, later acupuncture and rehabilitation therapy.
Patients may need to undergo brain imaging to rule out brain tumors, cerebral hemorrhage and other causes of facial paralysis, and under this premise, facial paralysis can be treated with the following four treatment modalities:
1. Pharmacological treatment: anti-inflammatory corticosteroids in the acute stage; B vitamins (vitamin B1 and vitamin B12) to promote the recovery of nerve myelin; acyclovir antiviral drugs.
2. Physiotherapy: in the acute stage, ultra-short-wave diathermy, infrared radiation or local hot compresses can be used near the stems of the mastoid foramen, which is helpful to improve local blood circulation and reduce the edema of the nerves.
3. Eye protection: patients can’t close their eyes for a long time so that the cornea is exposed and dry, which is easy to cause infection, so they can wear eye shields or use levofloxacin eye drops to prevent infection and protect the cornea.
4. Rehabilitation treatment: iodine iontophoresis, acupuncture or electroacupuncture can be used during the recovery period.
If brain imaging examination shows brain tumor, brain hemorrhage, etc., surgery, blood vessel expansion and other treatments are needed for the original disease.
All treatments should be used under the clear diagnosis and guidance of doctors in specialized hospitals.
