Will cervical spine cause hand numbness to heal on its own?

Numbness in the hand caused by cervical spine will not heal on its own. It may generally be caused by a herniated disc, or a proliferating bone compressing the nerve, or it may be caused by tuberculosis or tumor of the cervical spine, etc. If the numbness of the hand is diagnosed to be caused by cervical spondylosis, it is cervical spondylosis of the nerve root type. If the condition is not very serious and the hand numbness is caused by slight compression, hot compresses, massage, acupuncture, traction, or physical therapy can relieve the numbness of the hand. If the compression is more obvious and the hand numbness is frequent, surgery can be performed when conservative treatment is ineffective. If the hand numbness is caused by the cervical spine, the patient must pay attention to self-care, avoid prolonged head down, ambulatory work, pay attention to maintaining the correct posture of the cervical spine, pay attention to intermittent rest, and usually also do appropriate head and neck and double upper limbs of forward flexion, backward extension and rotation activities.
