Its effects include warming the middle and lowering rebelliousness (warming and tonifying the stomach to prevent gastric qi from rushing upwards), dispersing cold, relieving pain, warming the kidney and supporting yang, and is mainly used in the treatment of coldness in the spleen and stomach, eructation and vomiting. Cloves should not be used with yujin.
