Is nasal congestion and runny nose and cough a new crown pneumonia?

The symptoms of nasal congestion, runny nose, and cough can occur during the course of novel coronavirus pneumonia, but they cannot be used as a basis for diagnosing novel coronavirus pneumonia because they are not unique to novel coronavirus pneumonia, and other causes can also cause nasal congestion, runny nose, and cough, such as the common cold. The gold standard for confirming the diagnosis of novel coronavirus pneumonia is a nucleic acid test, and if the nucleic acid test is positive, the diagnosis of novel coronavirus pneumonia is confirmed. The nucleic acid test for novel coronavirus pneumonia can sometimes be affected by the course of the disease, specimen collection, or testing reagents, and can result in false negatives. If the symptoms of novel coronavirus pneumonia are typical, repeated nucleic acid tests or a combination of specific antibodies for novel coronavirus pneumonia, i.e. IgM antibodies and IgG antibodies, are required for diagnosis.
