Hidden pain under the right rib cage in women, as in men, may be caused by costochondritis, intercostal neuralgia, hepatitis, cholecystitis and so on. However, it is not possible to make a clear judgment based on this symptom, and it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to find out the cause of the disease.
1. Costochondritis: Inflammatory lesions occurring in the costal cartilage area (the junction between the rib cage and the sternum), categorized into non-infectious costochondritis and infectious costochondritis. It can be manifested as a vague pain on the right side of the rib cage, with no obvious other accompanying symptoms when in pain, and it mostly occurs in women aged 25-35.
2. Intercostal neuralgia: The syndrome of intercostal nerves being damaged due to different reasons and appearing as strips of pain in the intercostal area of the chest or abdomen. The pain mostly occurs on one side of a branch of the nerve, when the onset of pain, visible from the back to the front, along the corresponding intercostal space radiating in a semi-circular, the pain is a stabbing or burning pain; coughing, deep breathing or sneezing pain aggravated.
3. Hepatitis and cholecystitis: the liver is located in the right upper abdomen of the human body, close to the right quarter of the ribs, with the gallbladder underneath, if the liver or gallbladder lesions, such as hepatitis B, cirrhosis of the liver, hepatocellular carcinoma, cholecystitis and so on, the patient will appear the symptoms of the right side of the subcostal pain.
Women with vague pain under the right rib cage should also exclude whether it is pain in the breast, such as mastitis, endocrine disorders, or even breast malignant tumors and other diseases.
