Skin peeling after a fracture is fast healing

Skin loss after fracture does not mean that the fracture is almost healed.
Skin loss after a fracture is usually due to severe swelling of local soft tissues after the fracture, resulting in local venous stasis and a persistent increase in local epidermal temperature. High temperature may accelerate the metabolism of the soft tissues of the skin, leading to the lack of nutrients in some of the skin, and thus the phenomenon of peeling necrosis.
Whether the fracture is healed or not can only be determined according to the x-ray film and the clinician’s judgment. Generally speaking, there are three main criteria for the healing of the fracture: ① no localized fracture compression pain, no longitudinal percussion pain. ② No abnormal activity of the fracture localization. (iii) X-ray shows a blurred fracture line and a continuous bone scab through the fracture line.
Patients who meet the above criteria, their fracture is basically in the state of healing, but later attention should be paid to the review, in order to grasp the recovery of the fracture.
