For e antigen positive patients, a total course of NAs (nucleic glycoside antivirals) of at least 4 years is recommended. After achieving HBV DNA below the lower limit of detection, normalization of ALT, and serological conversion of HBeAg, and consolidation of treatment for at least 3 years (with 6-month intervals of retesting) and still remaining unchanged, discontinuation of treatment may be considered, although prolongation of the course of treatment may reduce the number of relapses. For e-antigen negative patients, it is recommended that the treatment should reach the disappearance of HBsAg and undetectable HBV DNA, and can be considered to be discontinued after 1.5 years of consolidated treatment (after at least 3 times of reexaminations at intervals of 6 months), if the HBV DNA remains unchanged. Compared with the previous version, the course of treatment is greatly prolonged, especially e-antigen negative patients, HBsAg disappearance time is very long. In short, it seems best to take the drug for a long time, and the price of the drug is getting cheaper and cheaper.
