How Chinese Medicine Treats Urinary Tract Infections

Urinary tract infection belongs to the category of “gonorrhea (increased frequency of urination, dribbling, astringent pain)” in traditional Chinese medicine, which can be treated by acupuncture or medication, such as acupuncture on the bladder yu or medicine such as Bazheng San and Shiwei San.
Gonorrhea is caused by the kidney, bladder qi failure, water channel is unfavorable, clinical manifestations of urinary urgency, not finish, astringent pain in the urethra, pain leading to the waist and abdomen and other symptoms.
Depending on the symptoms, it can be divided into stone drenching (discharge of gravel during urination, or sudden interruption of urination, pain in the urethra, and unbearable pain in the waist and abdomen), blood drenching (the appearance of blood in the urine accompanied by a painful sensation), and qi drenching.
As well as cream drench (urine turbid as rice soup or slippery as grease, accompanied by urinary frequency and urgency, small abdominal traction discomfort), labor drench (urinary frequency and urgency after labor, urinary pain, small abdominal traction discomfort), heat drench (urine burning and stinging pain, accompanied by urinary frequency and urgency, small abdominal traction discomfort), and other kinds.
1. Acupuncture therapy: take the bladder Yu as the main, needle with diarrhea or tonic and diarrhea at the same time, in order to ease the bladder qi. For different syndromes, acupuncture points can also be used, such as stone drenching, plus the sun; blood drenching, plus the Sea of Blood and the Sanyinjiao; and gas drenching, plus the Hsingmai, and so on.
2. Treatment with medicines: Bazheng San, Shiwei San, etc. Bazheng San has the efficacy of clearing heat and diarrhea, diuresis and lymphatic drainage, and is mainly used for the treatment of heat drenching; Shiwei San has the efficacy of clearing heat and diuresis, and is mainly used for the treatment of heat drenching and stone drenching.
