How soon can blood lipids come down?

The time taken for lipids to fall is related to the degree of elevated lipids and treatment, and cannot be generalized. Elevated blood lipids are medically known as hyperlipidemia. Some patients may have a transient elevation of lipids due to recent irregularities in their lives. However, if the patient’s blood lipids do not drop or even increase, he should take oral lipid-lowering drugs such as atorvastatin, resulvastatin, simvastatin, etc. After taking them for 2 weeks, he should go to the endocrinology department of the hospital for a review and adjust the dosage according to the examination results. In daily life, patients should pay attention to low-salt and low-fat diet, avoid fatty, sweet and greasy food, quit smoking and limit alcohol, adhere to exercise and maintain healthy habits, which will help to restore blood lipids.
