What’s that murmur in your ear?

Ear murmur is mostly a tinnitus phenomenon, the main reasons include physiological factors or pathological factors.
1. Physiological factors: may be related to noise stimulation, long-term in the noise environment, may damage the inner ear hair cells tinnitus; with age, the cochlear hair cells will be reduced due to apoptosis, tinnitus phenomenon.
2. Pathologic factors: including other perceptual tinnitus and subjective tinnitus.
(1) Other perceived tinnitus: including arteriovenous fistula around the ear, jaw muscle spasm, stapedius muscle spasm, abnormal opening of the eustachian tube, temporomandibular joint capsule laxity.
(2) Subjective tinnitus: ear diseases such as cerumen impaction, non-purulent otitis media, otosclerosis, etc., systemic diseases such as high or low blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, anemia, etc., psychological factors such as mental tension, work pressure, sleep disorders can also lead to tinnitus phenomenon.
