Rational medical care: special times Patients with medical needs do this!

The new coronavirus pneumonia outbreak is occurring all over the world, can you still go to the hospital at this special time? To ensure your safety, reduce cross-infection, lower the rate of nosocomial infections, prevent the spread of the epidemic, and allow patients in need to see a doctor as soon as possible, this guide is important to read before you come to the hospital! How to visit the clinic properly during the outbreak? Be sure to wear a mask and take personal protective measures. Please keep a certain distance when talking to others. Please take the initiative to inform medical staff if you have a history of exposure to Wuhan, as well as your body temperature and respiratory symptoms. Please follow the signs and use the special lanes for pre-screening and temperature testing (currently the entrance to the outpatient building of Ruijin Hospital is the west gate of Ruijin 2nd Road; the exit is the north gate). Please try to make an appointment to attend the clinic and avoid the morning outpatient rush as much as possible. Please do not dispose of your masks after use! What should I pay attention to when I am admitted to the hospital for visits during the outbreak? Visits to the hospital should be kept to a minimum during special periods. If you have a fever, or a history of travel or residence in Wuhan within 2 weeks, or have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed patient with novel coronavirus infection pneumonia within 2 weeks, and other suspicious symptoms of discomfort, it is recommended that you do not visit the hospital. Please visit during the hospital hours and take personal protective measures. Need to visit a fever clinic? These are some points you need to know ① Do you need to go to the emergency fever clinic? First, patients with a history of exposure to Wuhan and a fever at the same time must be seen; it is recommended that people with a temperature of 38 degrees or more must go to a hospital emergency fever clinic; Second, people with a history of exposure to Wuhan but without any symptoms do not need to go directly to the hospital; they should do a good job of self-isolation and monitoring their temperature. Third, regardless of whether there is a history of exposure, those with fever and other related symptoms need to seek medical attention. However, for those without a history of exposure, it is best to self-isolate and wait 48 hours before seeking medical attention, during which time the temperature should be monitored and recorded every six hours. ②Where is the fever clinic special? At the entrance of the fever clinic, there is an older man in a white protective suit. When you arrive at the pre-screening desk, a nurse in “full armor” will make your card, register you, and take your temperature. While waiting in line at the entrance, you will see other patients with fever, some coughing, some looking weak, some chilling. The general emergency room will be relatively warm, but here in the fever clinic, the fresh air system is turned on to keep ventilation, so it will be a little cold, so it is recommended to wear more clothes before you go! ③ What questions will the doctor ask you here? When it’s your turn to see the doctor, please have your magnetic card and medical records ready. At the fever clinic, the doctor is most concerned about where you have been and who you have been in contact with. Regarding symptoms, these are usually asked: how many days of fever, what is the maximum temperature, whether you have headache, sore throat, cough and sputum, chest pain and abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, joint pain, etc., as well as urine and stool, medication and reaction, underlying disease status, and whether you smoke and drink. Generally, after asking these questions, the doctor basically has a general diagnosis. ④ What kind of cases will start the screening process? When you enter the emergency fever clinic, these tests are mandatory: routine blood, c-reactive protein, A and B flu test, chest CT . After the tests are done, if there is a history of Wuhan exposure, negative for A and B flu, declining white blood cells, and a questionable CT of the lungs, the screening procedure will be initiated immediately; in addition, the doctor will determine whether to initiate the screening procedure on a case-by-case basis. It takes 1-2 hours from the time the test is done to determine the initiation of the procedure. It is important to note that when you are ready to leave you must change your mask, disinfect your hands (with alcohol disinfectant), and disinfect everything, or at least take a bag to isolate it. Finally, please try to keep as quiet as possible, the quieter the doctor is focused, the faster you see the patient. Everyone is the first person responsible for their own health and epidemic protection is something everyone should take seriously. Please remember to wear masks, ventilate regularly, wash your hands, eat cooked food, and disinfect more often! Let’s fight against the epidemic with all our hearts and minds!
