Facial paralysis is not contagious.
1. Facial paralysis refers to paralysis of the facial nerve. There are many causes of facial nerve paralysis, such as infection, inflammation, immunity, tumor, and trauma.
2. Facial paralysis is not contagious, regardless of the cause. Even herpes zoster virus infected Hunter’s syndrome is not contagious because herpes virus is widely available in the air and can only be infected when the patient is immunocompromised.
3. The transmission of infectious diseases requires the fulfillment of three basic conditions: the source of infection, the means of transmission, and the susceptible population, and facial palsy is not included in the category of infectious diseases in the Infectious Diseases.
Patients suffering from facial paralysis should consult a doctor in time, cooperate with the treatment actively, avoid contact with the stimulation of cold wind, maintain a good lifestyle, keep a low-salt diet, quit smoking and drinking, and do more physical exercise to increase their resistance.
