How long does it take to recover from cyst surgery

The recovery time after cyst surgery is related to the part of the cyst; cysts on the surface of the body generally need 7~14 days to recover, while the recovery time of cysts on the organs needs to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis.
1. Cysts on the surface of the body: if the cyst is small and the wound is not infected, it will recover in 7~14 days. If the kind with infection needs to be cut and drained, the recovery time of the wound will be longer, needing 2~3 weeks or even a month to heal.
2. Cysts on the organs: liver cysts with clear fluid can be removed from the drain in 3~5 days, if the fluid in the cyst is bilious, it will take one to two months to be removed. In the case of kidney cysts, the drain can be removed after 1~2 days if there is no abnormal fluid or bleeding in the drain. Recovery is possible in about half a month after the drain is removed.
Patients should pay attention to rest after the operation and avoid strenuous exercise, so as not to cause bleeding of the wound. Redness, swelling and pain in the wound should go to the hospital in time.
