The role of neurosurgical openings

Our neurosurgery staff is basically in place, with most of the medical staff coming from tertiary hospitals, including two doctors and three masters. This will provide better and faster service for patients with acute stroke and traumatic brain injury in northeast Beijing, and buy valuable time for clinical treatment. At present, the neurosurgery department has performed whole brain angiography on 22 patients, which provides the most accurate basis for clear diagnosis and guidance for further treatment. For 2 cases of intracranial aneurysm with subarachnoid hemorrhage, spring coil embolization was successfully performed. Stenting was performed in a patient with 70% stenosis of the left vertebral artery. Intracranial drainage was performed in a patient with chronic subdural hematoma with fresh hemorrhage. External drainage by lateral ventricular puncture was performed for a patient with thalamic hemorrhage breaking into the ventricles and complicating the third and fourth ventricular casts. The exquisite skills and excellent service of the medical and nursing staff were well received by the patients and their families. After the opening of the department on August 28, 2010, in addition to endovascular treatment (interventional surgery) for cerebral ischemia, cerebral infarction and aneurysm, the neurosurgery department will also carry out microsurgery treatment for cerebrospinal cord tumors, craniocerebral trauma, hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage, aneurysm, cerebrospinal vascular malformation, hydrocephalus, epilepsy, facial spasm, trigeminal neuralgia, congenital malformation of the nervous system and other neurosurgery related diseases one after another. In order to make all medical and nursing staffs master and skillfully apply the professional knowledge of neurosurgery as soon as possible, a series of business studies and lectures have been organized within the department, which not only strengthen the learning of basic theories and expand the knowledge, but also enhance the communication between medical and nursing staffs.
