Can uterine fibroids be intervened

Uterine fibroids are classified into solitary fibroids and multiple fibroids according to their number, and intermural fibroids, submucous fibroids and subplasma fibroids according to their relationship with the uterine wall. Subplasma fibroids with narrow tips are not suitable for interventional therapy because they may be dislodged after surgery and enter the pelvis, which in turn may lead to secondary infection, and therefore are contraindicated for surgery, while other types of fibroids can be treated with interventional therapy. Interventional therapy for uterine fibroids can have the advantages of small trauma, fast recovery and uterus preservation, especially for submucosal fibroids, which may be dislodged and discharged after interventional therapy to achieve the goal of radical surgical treatment.
