What causes swollen feet in diabetics?

In one patient’s case, his left foot had been swollen and painful for a few days, but no cause was found. After arriving at our sugar foot center, the doctor found through examination that there was a small knotted protrusion on the second toe of his left foot, and after probing the infection underneath was particularly strong, with a large amount of pus oozing out inside after opening. In fact, this patient’s condition is typical of diabetic foot complications, plus the previous treatment was not symptomatic and untimely, which is why the symptoms are getting worse day by day. If this situation continues to be delayed, the infection will continue to move up and the consequences are really unimaginable. But I am here to tell you that there are other causes of swollen feet, such as diabetic nephropathy. Diabetic nephropathy is a common factor that causes swelling in the lower extremities of diabetics. Kidney lesions can cause many proteins to be excreted from the urine, and the plasma osmolarity is reduced, which allows the body to collect water and edema; on the other hand, damage to the kidneys can also affect the excretion of water in the body, and water is retained in the body and edema occurs. At the same time, diabetic patients are affected by high blood sugar for a long time, the blood vessels in the lower extremities are hardened, the walls of the blood vessels are thickened and the elasticity is reduced, and blood vessels are prone to form thrombi and collect into plaques, causing vascular occlusion in the lower extremities and nerve damage at the branch ends, thus causing diabetic edema. This is more complicated, but the impact caused is equally great. But regardless of the cause, the damage to the health of diabetic patients is great, so once the abnormality appears, it should be promptly examined and treated. Of course, the primary job of diabetic patients is to control the smoothness of blood sugar, diabetic patients occur to let blood sugar down. Treatment measures are oral hypoglycemic drugs, insulin injections, diet therapy, multi-pronged approach to get a good treatment effect.
