Introduction to gouty arthritis

Gout is a group of diseases caused by the disorder of purine metabolism in the body, resulting in elevated blood uric acid, and has a tendency to gather in families. With the improvement of living standards, the incidence of gout is increasing year by year, and the trend is younger. Gout usually goes through the following stages: asymptomatic hyperuricemia, acute gouty arthritis, chronic gouty arthritis, and gouty nephropathy. All need to be treated under the guidance of a specialist. Gouty arthritis is the key disease and advantage of our department. Based on the clinical practice of Professor Fang Dingya for many years, our department has gradually formed a perfect diagnosis and treatment system for this disease. According to the patient’s condition, we adopt traditional Chinese medicine (internal and external cleansing) or combined Chinese and Western medicine treatment, which can not only control the symptoms of joint swelling and pain faster, but also prevent the formation of gouty stone, urinary tract stone and gouty nephropathy, with the advantages of fast onset, good efficacy, treating the disease before it occurs and reducing recurrence. Precautions: 1. Strictly low purine diet, drink a lot of water >2 liters/day. 2. Reduce activities during the attack period. Wear comfortable shoes and local warmth during the interval. 3.Cautiously use drugs that hinder uric acid excretion, such as aspirin and diuretic antihypertensive drugs (antihypertensive 0, dihydrocoumarin, indapamide, etc.). 4.Take herbal tonics, Chinese patent medicines, painkillers and alkalizing urine medicines during the attack period, and can use topical painkillers and herbal decoction for external washing. 5.Suspend the use of uric acid-lowering drugs during the attack period. Pain relief for more than two weeks before you can start using them in small doses and taking painkillers in combination to prevent acute attacks of gout. 6.Gout can lead to gouty nephropathy, which should be paid attention to, regular review of relevant indicators such as blood uric acid, urinary routine, creatinine, urea nitrogen, etc. 7.For asymptomatic hyperuricemia, diet should be controlled, Chinese medicine should be adjusted, and regular review should be done to prevent the onset.
