There are several possibilities for acne to become a “pimple”:
1. Progression of the disease: The occurrence of acne is related to a large amount of sebum secretion, abnormal levels of androgens, and the excessive proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes. Early acne usually takes the form of whiteheads and blackheads. If not treated in time, the condition may further aggravate, manifesting itself in the form of pimples, nodules, cysts, etc., and there may be “pimple”-like changes.
2. Secondary scarring: When acne is not treated effectively and develops further, causing damage to the dermis, scarring may remain. Acne scars are usually depressed scars, so-called “pimples”. Some acne scars may also appear as hyperplastic scars, or even keloids, which may cause acne to turn into “pimples”.
There are many reasons for acne to turn into a pimple. Patients need to go to the hospital and cooperate with the doctor to actively treat the primary disease.
