Why is there a noticeable bump after ultra-reduced tension fine suturing?

In the past two years, I have received many patients in the clinic, and when they consult me on how to treat scars, they often take out pictures of cases I have done and say “I want this effect”, but of course, there are also some people who question “why is there a noticeable bump on the skin after doing super reduction fine suturing? Today, I would like to explain to you. Why do we need super reduction suturing? When a wound appears, the first thing we think of is suturing. When we try to sew the skin on both sides of the wound together, the skin on both sides of the wound will split in tension due to the elasticity and the movement of the muscles underneath the skin, and this splitting will continue until as long as 6 months after the injury. Even at 6 months, the wound heals only to about 70% of the strength of our normal skin. And the split gap will provide a favorable environment for scar growth, the scar grows in this wound will not close, and after six months the wound matures and the scar is formed. The purpose of our super tension reduction fine suturing is to ensure that after surgery, the skin on both sides of the wound is close together without splitting, so that we layer the tissue in the dermis of the wound with fine sutures to reduce the skin tension and thus control scar formation. Why is there a bump after surgery? Many people find that the skin will appear raised after super tension reduction fine suturing. This is because the skin on both sides of the wound will close up towards the wound to form a raised shape under the action of the sutures. However, there is no need to worry, the longer this bulge remains, the better the result of the scar treatment. The super tension-reducing fine suture technique we use uses absorbable threads that will be absorbed only six months after surgery. After absorption, the tension in the skin wound will be gone, and when we are in motion it will not cause the phenomenon of widening the wound. At this point the skin will naturally spread down and the treatment will end with flat skin.
