When the symptoms of chronic suppurative otitis media cannot be improved by conservative treatment or when chronic suppurative otitis media may cause or has caused intracranial and extracranial complications, surgical treatment should be adopted. Surgery can be considered in the following cases: 1. Recurrent episodes of chronic suppurative otitis media with poor results of drug therapy. 2, tympanic membrane perforation, dry ear for 3 to 6 months, to be improved hearing. 3.Cholesteatoma of the middle ear. 4.Temporal bone CT shows: soft tissue density shadow in the middle ear mastoid, and the anti-inflammatory treatment is ineffective. 5.Chronic purulent otitis media with intracranial and extracranial comorbidities: subperiosteal abscess behind the ear, labyrinthitis, otogenic meningitis, brain abscess and other conditions.
