What to do if you get water in your ear from swimming

Usually, after swimming leads to water in the ear, it can be dealt with by jumping on one foot, pulling the auricle, cleaning the ear with cotton swabs, and suctioning out under the otoscope.

1. One-legged jump: the body can be tilted, the water into the side of the ear down, in situ one-legged jump, using the principle of gravity to make the water out of the ear.

2. Pulling the auricle: pull the auricle downward and outward to straighten the ear canal, and the water may slowly flow out.

3. Cotton swab cleaning: Use a clean cotton swab to gently insert into the external ear canal to clean up the water, but it should be noted that the action should be gentle and slow, do not pull out the ear roughly, so as not to damage the skin of the external ear canal or the eardrum.

4. Endoscopic treatment: Under the endoscope, a fine cotton swab can be dipped into the dry, or a suction device should be used to suck out the water slowly.

It should be noted that if you still feel stuffy, painful or have pus in your ear after cleaning up the water in the external ear canal, it is recommended that you consult a doctor immediately to find out if there is an infection in the ear.
