Treatment of chest and shoulder pain after open heart surgery

A middle-aged male patient underwent open-heart surgery for a right lung tumor in June. After waking up from anesthesia, he felt pain in the shoulder and around the incision, but did not seek medical treatment because it was a normal reaction after the surgery, and the pain worsened in the following six months, which made his upper limbs inactive and seriously affected his sleep, and his quality of life and mental status were extremely poor, so he came to the pain clinic of the department of pain. Color ultrasound showed that the right shoulder supraspinatus muscle, deltoid muscle under the fluid, to the corresponding position of the anti-inflammatory analgesic injection, the upper limb can be lifted to about 70 degrees, the pain slowed down a lot, the night can be intermittent sleep, still feel the right shoulder and the same side of the thoracic and dorsal pain, asked for treatment in the hospital, to be CT-guided right thoracic vertebrae small joints and the acromion under the bursa injections, the puncture needle punctured during the operation around the acromion under the bursa, there is a sharp pain, and the pain is exactly the same as the ordinary pain, and the pain. After the injection of anti-inflammatory and analgesic solution, shoulder, chest and back pain disappeared completely, and the upper arm movement was greatly restored, and he reported that he had never been so comfortable in six months, so he terminated the treatment, and did not carry out the peri-incisional and thoracic paraspinal small joint treatment. Side-lying position and pillow in thoracic surgery may lead to injuries of the small joints of the thoracic spine and the muscles and bursa around the shoulder joint, and sometimes a little bit of pain is even manifested as hemifacial pain when it is severe, and sometimes it is even confused with intercostal neuralgia and incisional pain, which misguides the clinical treatment, and increases and prolongs the pain of the patients. It is hoped that patients with such experiences will go to the pain department as soon as possible to improve their quality of life.
