Who should get rabies immunoglobulin

Rabies Immune Globulin is indicated for patients with confirmed scratches and bites from animals such as dogs and cats, as well as patients with large wounds or severe head and face bites. It is usually used in combination with the rabies vaccine.
Immunoglobulin is only required if you have been bitten by a sick dog or if you have been bitten on the head and face. For ordinary bites, the rabies vaccine can be given. If the wound is bleeding, rabies immune globulin can be injected within 7 days of vaccination, and rabies immune globulin is not required after 7 days.
Patients are advised to seek medical attention and rabies vaccination in the event of a dog or other animal bite. Patients with severe bites should be coadministered with rabies immune globulin to improve immunization and prevent rabies.
It should be noted that the full injection must be completed as required under the guidance and advice of the doctor, observation of physical condition, balanced nutrition, avoidance of strenuous exercise, and more rest.
