What is an effective treatment for keloid scars?

There are many keloid patients in China, and keloid scars are difficult to treat for various reasons, and are especially prone to recurrence.

2. Characteristics of keloid scars: They grow gradually (beyond the original scope) and do not fade away (common keloid scars fade away slowly after one year), and are particularly prone to recurrence after surgical removal, accompanied by itching and discomfort.

3. Preferred sites of keloid scars: earlobes, jaw, anterior chest, back of shoulder, perineum.

4. Drug injection therapy: This is a very effective treatment method. Common drugs include Tretinoin, Depo-Provera, 5-FU, and vitreous plum, which are suitable for small keloid scars or small individual keloid scars. The treatment is characterized by the need for multiple treatments, because on the one hand, the keloid will not flatten to the ideal state with one treatment, and on the other hand, keloid is prone to recurrence. Once the keloid has calmed down and stabilized, do not stimulate it again.

5.Surgical treatment: Some slightly large regular keloid scars are suitable for surgical excision and fine reduction suturing, the post-operative incision is fine and has a better appearance, but post-operative radiotherapy must be carried out to prevent keloid scars from recurring and regular follow up, if there are signs of hyperplasia, timely drug injection treatment will be carried out to calm down the keloid scars.
