What happened to the abscess after BCG vaccination?

Local reactions to BCG vaccination include non-specific reactions and specific reactions. Non-specific reactions are slightly red, swollen, and raised skin at the site of vaccination, and disappear in about half an hour. The specific reaction is the local redness, swelling and hard nodules that appear 3-4 weeks after BCG vaccination and gradually soften to form a white abscess, which can break on its own, usually 3-5mm in diameter, and most of them can heal after 8-12 weeks. The child can bathe normally, but pay attention to avoid local extrusion, keep the local dry and clean.
