Vaginal bleeding usually heals spontaneously. Most post-coital vaginal bleeding is caused by physiological factors, usually mechanical epidermal abrasions, which heal spontaneously. If the patient has underlying illnesses such as diabetes, coagulation disorders, or is accompanied by abdominal pain, chills and high fever, or abnormal leucorrhoea, it is advisable to seek prompt medical attention.
